Every good kitchen deserves great support
Just getting into baking and wondering what tools you really need – don’t worry, I’ve got you.
I’ve rounded up essential tools every beginner baker will need. These are tried and true tools I’ve reached for again and again – whether I’m whipping up a batch of cookies or kneading out some stress with some homemade bread.
Meet the kitchen stars:
- Hand mixer/stand mixer – for smooth batter or fluffy frosting
- Mixing bowls – various sizes keep things tidy and efficient
- Spatulas – at least two, because one is never enough
- Measuring cups & spoons – both dry and liquid for accuracy
- Baking sheets & pans – the stage where all the magic happens
- Small containers – perfect for pre-measured ingredients, toppings, or storing extras
- Regular utensils – don’t underestimate the power of a sturdy spoon for scooping, stirring, or serving. Or a knife for leveling flour
Supporting cast:
These tools may not get the spotlight much, but they sure make life easier.
- Rolling pin – your go-to for pie crusts, doughs and more
- Cling wrap – for dough resting and storage
- Pastry brush – great for egg wash or buttery finishes
Tip: You don’t need everything at once. Start simple. Build as you go.
Baking is much more fun when you’re prepared. Keep your tools ready – and let’s whip up something sweet together!
